I have participated before in Oakland
3. Why you want to do this ride
I support physical activity and non-motorized transportation options and understand the need to raise awareness of the issues.
4. Tell us about your touring experience- if little or none, indicate many miles have you ridden over the last year:
I do not tour that much, but I never drive. I would estimate approximately 4000 miles last year.
5. Tell us about your bike
I have a several hybrids and a mountain bike with racks, paniers, lights and fenders. One of my hybrids has a generator hub and that is really cool. I maintain several bikes & helmets in case someone shows up without one and wants to go for a ride..
6. Describe your training regimen
I bike every day and do yoga almost every night..
7. How are you making time for this
I am a self employed Green Architect and can generally arrange my schedule..
8. What are your fears about doing this ride
Coordinating the start times and places.
9. Do you have any special skills that you feel would benefit the Mayors' Ride?
I am an LCI through the LAB courses and know many of the political leaders in Oakland, Berkeley.
10. Do you have any personal contacts that you feel could help the National Bicycle Greenway or the Mayors' Ride? If so, please list them here:
I am on good terms with Councilwoman Nancy Nadel, other local politicians, and have knowledge of other areas.

Sierra Club NAC Ex.Com., East Bay Bicycle Coalition, Friends of the Oakland Municipal Band, others..

 | These bike friendly corridors will link our urban areas with our wilderness and other open space lands and they will be designed so that wildlife will be able to safely cross them. On the stretches between urban areas, markers along the Greenway will explain the history and geography of the various regions that one passes through. |
